Founded in March 2003 in the heart of Northern California’s Bay Area rap scene, Rapbay.com was created with one clear mission: to bring quality underground rap music and authentic hip hop products to fans around the world. Since day one, we have been passionate about discovering, curating, and delivering the best in independent rap with respect for the culture, the artists, and the fans who keep it alive.

Company Overview
For more than 23 years, Rapbay.com has remained a trusted name in underground rap. Our deep roots in Bay Area hip hop have helped shape our identity and expand our reach, allowing us to support and feature artists from the West Coast, Midwest, South, North, and East Coast.
As an independently owned and operated business, Rapbay.com is run by longtime rap music supporters Ryan Viale Gertler and Kerry Huffman. We work directly with artists, labels, distributors, and rights holders, building real relationships based on trust, respect, and a shared passion for the music.
Rapbay.com also works closely with its sister company, Urbanlife Distribution LLC. Founded in 2001, Urbanlife began as a physical distributor serving retail stores and later expanded into digital distribution in 2006. Today, Urbanlife manages releases for more than 700 independent labels and maintains direct partnerships with major digital platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, TikTok, TIDAL, Meta, JPay, and many others.
With a catalog of more than 4,000 physical titles and over 80,000 digital tracks, Rapbay.com and Urbanlife Distribution continue to serve a global network of fans, artists, labels, entrepreneurs, and supporters of independent rap music.
